The Apartments Pedras del Rei consists of 181 apartments in terraced houses and bungalows located close to Tavira, at the heart of the Ria Formosa protected nature reserve. The apartments are surrounded by a pretty garden with citrus and olive trees and is also situated by a lagoon where 15 km of long, gently falling, fine sand beach stretches out into the horizon (within 1 km). The beach can be easily reached by using the complimentary tram, which departs every 30 minutes in winter and every 10 minutes in summer. Public transport is easily reached on foot, as it is 1 km to the nearest shops and the resort of Santa Luzia. Restaurants and bars are all some 2.5 km away and it is 5 km to Tavira, where there are several nightclubs. Faro airport is approximately 35 km away. The simple and functional standard apartments are equipped with an en suite bathroom, lounge area, kitchenette with a fridge, a heater as well as a balcony and a terrace. The recently built superior apartments are air-conditioned and have two bathrooms, one of them being en suite. These superior apartments also offer use of a TV, lounge and dining areas, and are equipped with a cooker, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine. The facilities of the complex include a pleasant lobby with a convenient 24-hour reception, safes, newspaper kiosk, supermarket, coffee bar, snack bar, piano bar and restaurant. For an additional fee guests are able to use the Internet access and a washing machine with a dryer. Pets are allowed free of charge. The complex also features a pool with a sun terrace, pool bar, sun loungers with pillows, parasols, massage treatments, a gym and billiards or darts, although charges do apply. Children are offered a kids' club and a playground and bicycle hire is also available, as well as a car park for those arriving by car. In addition, the hotel organises a seasonal entertainment programme. There is a golf course and a bowling club ten to fifteen km away.
