1 Church Cottages is a beautifully finished semi-detached Victorian cottage positioned, as the name suggests, just across from the Norman church of St Martins. Refurbished to an impeccable standard, The south coast is only 30 minutes' drive away with beaches at Brighton, Saltdean and Seaford.

This welcoming cottage has been lovingly restored with great attention to detail and retains many of its Victorian period features such as the original fireplaces in both bedrooms. On the ground floor is the spacious, tastefully decorated sitting room with its cosy wood burning stove for those cooler winter evenings. French doors open onto the secluded garden, which has two terraces to relax and unwind in the summer sunshine. There is an open-plan dining area and a country style kitchen with an electric Aga, along with a breakfast table with bench seating. Both bedrooms can be found upstairs on the first floor. Bedroom one features a king-size bed and has lovely views onto the south-east facing garden and to the church beyond. Completing the room is the integrated en-suite facilities with a free-standing, claw-foot bath, wash basin and a separate WC. The second bedroom has a super-king size bed and a large wardrobe with plenty of storage space. In addition, there is a family shower room with a spacious walk-in shower.

Set in the centre of the ancient village of Westmeston at the foot of the South Downs, 1 Church Cottages is perfectly positioned for exploring the beautiful rural landscape of East Sussex. The south coast is only 30 minutes' drive away with beaches at Brighton, Saltdean and Seaford. The local area has many picturesque walks to discover. A real highlight for guests is bound to be the footpath from the front of the house that leads directly to The Downs. There are also two excellent pubs within 2 miles walking distance of the cottage, as well as an abundance of cafés, pubs and restaurants a little further afield in Lewes (6 miles) and Brighton (7½ miles).

Also available to book at this location is The Garden Room (sleeping two guests) next door.
